Caer Galen welcomes everyone to Defender! What better way to cool off during the hot summer than to head up to the mountains for a weekend of fun, fighting, and friends. Lord Ubertino will be hosting the archery tournament, Lord Paul is hosting the heavy tournament, and Lord Miguel will host the fencing tournament. 

TENTATIVE Schedule:

 

Friday:

Site opens at 4:00pm. Camp set up, general merriment and relaxing in the mountains.

 

Saturday:

Opening Court 9am

Archery Field opens ~9:30 for warm up

Archery Tournament 10-12

Heavy tournament 12:30- 2:30

Fencing tournament 2:30- 4:30

Evening Court 5 p.m. - Depending on the whims of Their Excellencies

The Barony will be hosting a potluck dinner on Saturday night- we will provide the main course (brats and burgers and fixings), please bring a side-dish to share!

 

Sunday:

Games are always possible! Bocce, Kub…?

Site closes at 12:00pm.

Site Restrictions:

 

Site is Wet

 

All camping sites are walk-in from the parking area and wheelbarrows are provided to help move items to the campsites.

 

Campfires are allowed at this time (TBD) in the fire ring provided, dead and down wood may be gathered from the forest if available- will update on site if any fire restrictions are in place.

 

Please have a fire extinguisher for each fire.

 

Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times. 

 

There will be a designated quiet camping area and a designated party area to allow those who wish to hear less noise and those who want to sing, drum, and dance till dawn! 

 

Directions:

From Interstate 25 in Denver, travel west on 6th Avenue to State Highway 6 and continue through Clear Creek Canyon. Turn on State Highway 119 toward Black Hawk and Central City. Follow the highway 4 miles north of Black Hawk, to the campground. Turn Left onto Mussouri Gulch Road and follow the signs to the campground.

 

From the North you can take State Highway 119 through Boulder Canyon up to Nederland, then head south approximately 11 miles to Missouri Gulch Road, turn right and follow the signs to the campground.
